You’ll find some helpful information here about our beautiful venue. However, should any questions arise at any point throughout your wedding or event planning process, our friendly events planning team is available to answer any queries you may have from the moment you book your date with us.
Do you have an events planning team?
Yes we have an events planning team, please contact us to discuss your ideas and needs.
Can guests throw confetti?
Guests may throw fresh or dried petal confetti only.
What is your cancellation policy?
Deposits and payment for venue hire are non refundable and we strongly recommend you take out wedding insurance. Please see our General Terms and Conditions.
Will we have exclusive use of the venue?
Yes you will have exclusive use of The Barn at Hurlands from 9.00am to midnight on the day of your event.
How many guests can we have throughout the day?
There is formal seating for 60 guests in The Barn itself and the total number of guests we can accommodate informally is 100.
Is the venue licensed for Civil Ceremonies?
The Barn is not licensed for Civil Ceremonies, however its courtyard or the gardens with their beautiful oak trees and pretty woodland provide the perfect canvas for a personal ceremony conducted by a Celebrant.
Is all the furniture supplied?
The furniture for your reception is normally provided by your chosen caterer from our recommended list and there is also a list of tried and tested furniture hire companies on our website.
Are dogs allowed?
As a rule only guide dogs are allowed at The Barn at Hurlands. However in special circumstances dogs may be allowed in the grounds. Please contact our events team to discuss your requirements.
Can we have a live band/musicians?
Yes you may have live music at your event; please refer to details in our General Terms and Conditions.
Do you have accommodation?
There is a self-contained honeymoon cottage available and if you would like details, please ask our friendly team.
There is no guest accommodation on site. However, there is the opportunity for glamping by prior arrangement and we have a list of local places to stay should you require it.
What time can we access the venue?
9.00am on the morning of your event.
Is parking available?
Yes, there is parking available for you and your guests at The Barn at Hurlands.
Can guests leave cars overnight?
Yes, cars may be left overnight by prior arrangement with our team.
Can we use our own caterers?
The Barn Hurlands works with a select list of caterers from which you can chose.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
You are welcome to bring your own alcohol and soft drinks for your reception and meal and we do not charge corkage. Drinks at all other times are provided by our resident bar, The Thirsty Hedgehog.
Is there a paying bar?
Yes, The Thirsty Hedgehog, our resident paying bar will be available for your use.
Are fireworks allowed?
Unfortunately, fireworks and sky lanterns are not allowed. Please refer to our General Terms and Conditions.
Can we have outdoor games and bouncy castles?
We do not allow bouncy castles, although you are welcome to enjoy the gardens and to bring garden games such as boule, badminton, croquet etc.
What time does our event have to end?
Last carriages are at midnight.
